The
MULTIPLIER OF THE YEAR
Award
An international contest to recognize leaders who amplify the intelligence of those around them.
"When you learn, teach. When you get, give."
- Maya Angelou
Multiplier Leaders
Multipliers are leaders who use their intelligence to amplify the smarts and capabilities of the people around them. When these leaders walk into a room, light bulbs go on; ideas flow and problems get solved.
This is your opportunity to give back to a leader who has impacted you by giving them the recognition they deserve.
It’s also an opportunity for you to generate buzz for the right kind of leadership to help build a Multiplier culture within your organization.

How it’s Won
Nominate a Leader
Your first goal is to nominate a leader who embodies the disciplines of a Multiplier.
Video submissions are a bonus since we can see and hear the positive impact from your Multiplier leaders.
Get on the shortlist
Your second goal is to give your nominee the best chance to get on the shortlist.
We look for nominations that include the clearest examples of a leader exhibiting one of the five Multiplier disciplines.
Rally the troops
Finally, you’ll want to spread the word and rally the troops to vote during the third phase of the contest.
The nominee’s who win leverage their entire organization and social network to vote for their nominee.

Have you ever had a true mentor? Someone amazing, who you held the deepest, most authentic respect for – who also poured him or herself into you and your professional journey? I had that once – a person whose ideas about the world, the workplace, and me who not only shaped me professionally, but who played a vital role in the creation of the book Multipliers. It was something that he said about me that sparked the question core to the Multipliers research of why some people become smarter, even brilliant, around a great manager. My mentor has since died, but I’d love to tell you more about him and how he affected me…
This year, the overwhelming majority of votes for a Multiplier leader in the business/corporate sector went to Ken Fenoglio, Vice President of AT&T University. It was exciting to see how many people at AT&T wanted to demonstrate their support for this inspiring leader in their company and share his example with others.
